What is Restylane?
In the human body, a natural substance called hyaluronic acid supports skin elasticity and hydration. However, the body’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid diminishes with age.
Restylane is an FDA-approved injectable skin filler that helps improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as laugh lines and fine lines around lips.
Dr. Sinha uses this gel-based dermal filler to restore volume lost over time and return the face to its most youthful contours.
What can I expect from Restylane treatments?
During the treatment, our doctors will inject a small amount of Restylane into the facial area using an ultra-fine needle, immediately lifting and smoothing out wrinkles. The Restylane formula includes the topical anesthetic lidocaine to minimize discomfort and make the injections completely painless.
Injections take place in the comfort of our Atlanta clinic, and are typically complete within less than an hour. There is no patient downtime from this non-invasive procedure, and you’ll be able to return to work and resume normal activities immediately.
Side effects are generally mild and include redness, swelling, itching or tenderness at the injection site. These effects generally disappear within two to three days.
Though each patient’s experience varies, the results of a Restylane injection can last up to 18 months.
