Hands

Have you noticed age spots, thinning, wrinkling or prominent veins and bones on the backs of your hands?

Hands are one of the first places where the telltale signs of aging become apparent. Even if you have taken steps to keep your face and neck looking youthful, the appearance of your hands may be making you look older than your true age.

Fortunately, the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery offers several highly effective techniques to rejuvenate your hands, improving the quality and texture of your skin while decreasing the wrinkling and prominent veins. Our customized treatments deliver results based on the specific needs of each patient’s hands.

What hand rejuvenation procedures are available? Whether you require volume replacement, correction of sun damage or erasure of lines and wrinkles, Dr. Sinha has numerous treatment options at his disposal. Most procedures are minimally invasive, but in the case of very loose, wrinkled skin, we may also recommend surgery to remove excess skin.

Dr. Sinha performed my procedure. He always takes the time to make you feel comfortable and to listen to your needs. His goal is to make you look the best but in a natural way. He is the best in the business and I totally trust him with any procedure he performs.

Shape

To improve the shape of the hands, Dr. Sinha often suggests treatment with filler injections to create fullness and reduce the jutting appearance of knuckles and bones. The filler is injected into the hand at multiple locations to reshape and add volume back into the hands. We can also achieve fuller hands with the use of fat injections, in which liposuction tubes remove excess fatty tissue from other areas of your body and re-inject it into your hands.

Veins

The appearance of large veins can be diminished through the injection of a solution (generally a salt solution) into the vein in a process called sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is effective for medium-sized blood vessels, greater than 3 mm in diameter. A solution is injected into the vein with a micro-needle until the vein turns white and gradually disappears.

Smaller veins are treated with lasers and will recede into the skin as the blood absorbs the laser light, causing the vessels to coagulate and be absorbed by the body.

There is little to no discomfort with either vein treatment, and there is also no downtime.

Skin

For the skin, Dr. Sinha uses rejuvenation techniques such as superficial chemical peels, lasers and light therapy to reduce the appearance of spots and discoloration on the backs of hands.

In the case of loose skin, Dr. Sinha may opt to remove some of the skin to augment the hand.
